®FILIE

FILIE® is a sustainable material made from recycled PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) film, originally used as the inner lamination layer in car windshields. This layer, known for its strength, optical clarity, and impact resistance, is extracted through a specialized recycling process that separates and purifies it from glass waste. The recovered PVB is then processed into high-quality granulate and transformed into FILIE® sheet material. As a leather alternative, FILIE® offers a wide range of textures, thicknesses, and backing fabrics tailored for various applications, including sports balls and gloves. It is highly durable, having passed abrasion tests of 45,000 cycles, and allows for customization in surface design and performance. By repurposing a waste stream generated in large quantities globally, FILIE® not only reduces globle automotive waste but also opens new possibilities in material innovation and product design.
